DO I NEED A BUILDING PERMIT FOR A SHED IN ND?

According to the North Dakota Building Code if a shed is less than 120 square feet a permit is not required. For any sheds over that size, you will need a permit. It is important to note, however, that local cities and towns may have rules and regulations that are often more strict than the state rules.

It is important to note that failure to obtain the necessary permits and comply with building codes could result in fines or other legal consequences. Therefore, it is always best to check with your local building department before starting any construction project.  It is also worth noting that building codes get updated from time to time. This is another reason why it is important to update yourself on local codes every time you start on a new building project.
